We will learn how to experience mindfulness in art. We will do mindfulness exercises to improve well-being, attention, self-regulation and social competency. We will combine mindfulness with the Zentangle® method of pattern drawing! They are miniature pieces of unplanned, black and white drawings created through a very specific method from an ensemble of simple, structured patterns called tangles. The process of creating the patterns is a form of “artistic meditation” as one becomes completely absorbed in making each pattern, deliberately focusing on the pattern. The creation of patterns increases focus, creativity, and a sense of personal well-being.
